We’re proud to announce we've tripled the speed of our most popular home broadband plan at no extra cost to our customers.

When Chorus announced that from December they will make their largest ever performance upgrade for NZ fibre users we jumped at the chance to pass this on to you. This change will triple the download speed of NZ's most popular Ultrafast Broadband plan from 100Mbps to 300Mbps. Wowzers.

We think this is a great opportunity to give you faster fibre speeds and better yet, you don't need to do anything to get the new fibre speeds, we'll take care of everything.

What plans does the speed increase affect?

Current fibre plans on 100/20Mbps (upload/download) speeds are being sped up to 300/100 speeds. This change doesn’t affect other fibre plans, or copper-based connections (ADSL/VDSL).

When will my speed be increased?

The work to speed things up on our network will be completed by December 3rd.

Do I need to do anything to get this offer?

No, we’re taking care of everything for you – just sit back and wait for the speed to increase. Actually, by the time you're reading this, your speed will have probably already been increased.

Is faster better?

Yes, not only does the faster speed mean faster download and upload speeds, equalling an even smoother online experience for you, it also means a better experience if you have multiple devices connected to your Wi-Fi.

Will my current hardware (router) handle the faster speeds?

This is a good opportunity to check your equipment. From time to time, you will need to upgrade your hardware (Wi-Fi router) to ensure you get the best performance from your fibre connection. In some cases, older routers might not be able to take advantage of the new/faster fibre speeds.

How do I get the fastest speeds out of my connection?

Having the best fibre connection to your door is just part of the equation to getting excellent broadband speeds in your home. You should also consider:

  1. Your router - how old is it? It could be time to upgrade to newer technology.
  2. Where is your router placed? - is it likely to be suffering from interference? or is it hidden away where it can't provide a good signal?
  3. Are you getting a strong Wi-Fi signal where you want it? - need Wi-Fi across your property - maybe in the back yard, upstairs or in your home office.
